COVID Sanitation procedures for Old Lyme Rowing Association at Hains Park
OLRA will following US Rowing guidelines which focuses on “getting in, train and get out” to minimize unnecessary contact and disinfecting to prevent the spread of the virus:
- If you are feeling sick or you did not go to school, please do not come to practice.
- Individuals should always maintain social distances of at least six feet in all areas including parking lot, boat house and docks.
- Have clean hands when coming to the boathouse, sanitize before arrival.
- Please wear a face mask at all times upon arriving at Hains Park, while on land. Face mask may be left with your shoes on the dock or taken with you. We recommend clearly marking your face mask with your name.
- Kids will be selected into ‘pods’ , they will ALWAYS be training with this group, If the group is missing someone it will be broken out into singles/doubles
- There is no sharing of equipment within a session.
- You should be the only one to handle your oar(s). All oars should be disinfected AFTER use. A bleach water dip bucket will be provided (2 cups of bleach to 2 gallons of water).
- After rowing the boats must be disinfected. Spray bottles will be provided for you to sanitize boat surfaces, seat top, gunwale, oarlock and shoes. Once boat is back in rack please also wipe down the area where you were holding the boat.
- If anyone comes up positive, that pod will be shut down
- If you see anyone not complying, speak privately with a coach
- If anything changes about the COVID situation in this area we reserve the right to modify the program as we deem necessary
None of this protocol is optional, nor is there any middle ground. You must agree to comply with these rules for the program to work and to keep everyone safe.
Thank you.
